DISCOVERING NORTHERN EUROPE
Since June there has been great excitement at the Airport of Bolzano: during the entire Summer season tourists have flown to seaside destinations with Sky Alps and now the new Winter schedule has been announced.
Josef Gostner has always been an aviation enthusiast. It is therefore no coincidence that the Airport of Bolzano is close to his heart and that the decision of acquiring the airport was spontaneously taken as soon as the opportunity arose.
In the very same moment of the acquisition was born the idea of constituting an airline company and the establishment of Sky Alps was not long in coming. So it was that last June the very first Dash-8 Q400 took off for Ibiza, giving the Airport of Bolzano new life. With the addition of the second machine Sky Alps has transported with passion and dedication its passengers during the entire Summer season from Bolzano to Ibiza, Parma, Olbia, Rome, Berlin and Düsseldorf, and has attracted many international tourists towards South Tyrol. The care towards its guests was demonstrated also through delicious partnerships with Ultner Brot, Pompadour, Forst Beer, Mila, Roner, Sterzinger Yogurt, Rametz, Loacker, and Alps Coffee, which has allowed Sky Alps to offer scrumptious snacks during the flights.
The snacks are still offered on board, even though Summer has long been over and Sky Alps has been directing its attention towards exciting new destinations: “We make tourists fly”, explains Josef Gostner, “and our beautiful region hosts 40% of its guests during the Winter season. In the northern European area live many winter sport enthusiasts, who would love to ski in the Dolomites but, at the same time, do not want to spend over 10 hours stuck on snow-covered roads. With our Dash-8 the journey is much quicker and comfortable.” From December on Sky Alps’ Winter schedule will allow tourists from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, London, Brussels, Rotterdam and Copenhagen to arrive in Bolzano with a direct flight and reach the most beautiful ski slopes in the shortest time possible.
Also South-Tyroleans will be able to take advantage of the offer: in less than three hours they will finally be able to reach the most beautiful metropolises and cultural centres of all Europe without having to worry about traffic, motorway tolls or expensive parking.
All flights for the winter destinations are already available online – at www.skyalps.com – or in all tourism agencies of South Tyrol.
We look forward to welcoming you on board!
