Families with children

For our small guests Being at the airport or travelling by plane is an adventure for our small guests. We want to ensure both you and your children have a relaxing journey.

Children under two

Please be aware that children under the age of 2 do not have a right to a seat. They have to sit on the lap of the accompanying adult. In certain airlines you also have the possibility of booking a seat for your child. Some airlines insist that two children under two have to be accompanied by two adults.

Children under 12

Children between 2 and 12 normally have the right to reserve a seat and have the same baggage allowance as adults.

Unaccompanied children

Children can travel on their own. Individual airlines regulate where to and from which age children can fly unaccompanied. Normally children can fly unaccompanied from the age of 5. However, this has to be included in the booking procedure. Important: accompanying adults or their legal proxy have to take the child to the airport and remain there until the airplane is airborne. After checking-in, the unaccompanied child will be looked after during the intervening time at the airport. Upon boarding the child will be assigned to a member of the cabin crew who will take care of the child during the flight.

Pregnancy

Please inform the airline about your pregnancy during the booking procedure. Also be sure to ask whether you need to show medical certificates during check-in.

Babies

Even our smallest guests should feel welcome at Bolzano airport. The airport terminal features baby changing facilities in all rest rooms.
